Marc Alt is president and creative director of Marc Alt + Partners, a design and brand strategy firm specializing in environmental strategy, innovation and sustainability. Marc works with select companies in a wide range of industries on developing green strategy and communications. He has spoken at a variety of industry events and to private companies, including GE, Bloomberg LP, Estee Lauder, Liz Claiborne, Lippincott, Neenah Paper, AIGA, GAA and the PSFK Trends Conference and is quoted frequently in media. As an advocate of business transformation, Marc develops environmental conferences, including Grow, the first conference dedicated to the intersection of design, sustainability and commerce, and Greener Gadgets, a conference exploring the challenges, possibilities and trends in the greening of the $170 billion consumer electronics industry. He is also involved with a number of initiatives that are helping designers and companies come together to accelerate understanding of sustainable design principles. Marc serves on the advisory board and is Vice President of the The Designers Accord and is founding co-chair of the AIGA Center for Sustainable Design. Mr. Avallone travels the United States promoting the Green Energy Councils Education Initiative. He also travels worldwide discussing climate change, global warming and environmental stewardship. He has educated many large corporations and businesses worldwide in regards to greening their daily practices to increase their triple bottom line: economic, environmental and social benefits. His presidency as the leader of the National Green Energy Council has led him to 14 countries and 37 states educating from US Congressional leaders to kindergarten students across America.
He is one of the founders of the Green Energy Council.

In 1993, Hugh walked away from the security of a bi-weekly Madison Avenue paycheck, and opened Green Team, New York's first (and only) environmental advertising agency. In the subsequent years, Hugh expanded his agency's core capabilities to include social and cause related marketing, natural products and sustainable tourism. Today Green Team has grown to eighteen full-time staff with alliances around the globe. Green Team has worked for numerous non-profits, including WWF, Environmental Defense, Conservation International, National Geographic and the Smithsonian Institute. Green Team travel clients include Britain, Scotland, Ecuador, Dominica and Lindblad Expeditions. Green Team also works with a number of major corporations, helping them with their environmental and cause campaign. These include Johnson & Johnson, BP and Coca-Cola. Hugh was recently selected by Al Gore and The Climate Project to be one of 1,000 individuals chosen to present a modified version of Gore's presentation about global warming, chronicled in the film, An Inconvenient Truth.
